Canada is the US's biggest commercial partner (maybe not for long but right now it is). Since Bush has been in the white house, this week is the first time he has taken the time to come here, despite all the commercial issues that are currently affecting our mutual trade. Am I alone in thinking this is bad? No other American president in at least 35 years did not come to Canada during a complete term. I know the US has been engaged in a lot of different issues but Canada is the reason a lot of American jobs exist.

Yeah but we aided indirectly because we sent most of our remaining troops (those that are not used in a variety of UN and humanitarian missions all over the world) to Afghanistan so that you guys could pull out of there. We too have problems with troops, people are always deployed, they come back for a month and are deployed back out. It has been this way since the Gulf war. Apparently we have the most efficient war hospital staff in the world and are very good at deploying those very quickly so we are asked for that help all the time for a number of different UN missions.

Dude, people filled all hotel rooms in the city and people had to welcome strangers into their homes for them to sleep somewhere.... Halifax is not exactly a metropolis...
