Hey all,
Chris Akin, one of the guys from the show last night that interviewed John.
I have to agree with you that there wasn't a lot of "new" material that came out of the interview. Still was a solid 10 minutes with John.
As far as your question, "do we play Anthrax when we aren't interviewing them?" Fuck yeah, we do. Here's the thing about THE METAL SHOW in Cleveland. We pick our own music; not the station. That being said, both The Warlock and I are HUGE Anthrax and Armored Saint fans. We play Bush era stuff at least 2 out of every 4 weeks on the show, if not more. For the guy that stated that we play trendy music...fuck you!! (LOL). The truth is that we play a ton of really heavy stuff, old school stuff, some new school stuff, etc. The Warlock brings the bulk of the new stuff, and by nature I'm either a death metal guy or an old school (Sepultura, Pantera, Testament, Thrax, etc) guy. I invite anyone that wants to question this to hit the site any week (
www.themetalshow.com). The playlist is there every week on the left column, and the commercial free archive of the show is there if you missed anything that you want to hear. Last night, we didn't know the Bush interview was on the slate, but still we came in with "Random Act Of Senseless Violence" and "We've Come For You All" scheduled. "Random Act" - clearly not a mainstream Anthrax song.
As I've told members of your street team, we are down with Anthrax and want them to do well. While those of you in Cleveland may not be down with the "nu" sounds of 92.3 during the week, I can guarantee you that if you are down with Anthrax, you will be down with THE METAL SHOW for those 2 hours a week we get.
Anyway, if anyone does want to hear the John Bush interview from last night, it's up right now at
www.themetalshow.com. Look on the right column of the page.
Metal,
Chris Akin

I hardly ever listen to the radio in Cleveland, it sucks really. But I do remember on one occasion, I was listening to 92.3 back before it got really trendy, and they played "Crush." That was pretty cool.
