Not August, September. I've got Nightwish and Shinedown literally a week apart. I live in SF, too, so that means going downtown (which I detest).

I love the new Shinedown and picking up Nick Perri on second guitar was a brilliant move, but the engineer who mixed that album should be flayed alive. The gain is so loud it's painful. Not as bad as Testament but close.

Nightwish, well, they finally got to tour America after Tarja screwed them up. This is their last tour before a few final European dates and then back to the studio. So this is the time to see them. I hear they are much better now that the band has adjusted to Annete (it was a huge change, after all) and they sound real good. Should be a great show.

Anyone catching these shows? I know they have LA dates.

Search youtube for "Nightwish (Live In Wacken)" to see good footage of a very recent show.

They were here in San Diego and they killed.

Annette has a different style and has put a different spin on the songs and some are for the better. Dark Chest of Wonders here in SD eclipsed the Tarja rendition for me.

Great show Melisan, you will enjoy it. I'm probably gonna come up to LA and catch them again.

You won't be disappointed with the Nightwish show. Saw them last winter and it was incredible. So you will see them in downtown SF.... I finally got to see SF last year. How on earth do you people put up with the traffic and lack of parking!!... Maybe you will BART in ?
