Buying a BOGNER Alchemist. A good choice for Metal?

IMO that's like using a fork to eat your cereal. It'll work, to an extent. But it's better suited for a different job.

But it can do metal, and if you like rock it would be great too. And hell, it's only like $800 isn't it?

Doesnt sound as bad as I was expecting.
I am actually thinking about picking up this head for more indie/pop type of stuff.

To be honest I really like the sound of that Bogner. Might grab one at some point.

For the price of a new Alchemist (or just a bit more), you can probably find a used 5150 (for heavy tones) and a used Vox AC15 or Fender Bassman (for cleaner tones) - that's probably the route I'd go.
