just curious of your thoughts / opinions / experience of these microphones, if any.

don't know the beyer's but I use the km184 on every single project and LOVE them!

That M201 looks like it might be a nice piece to add to any collection... post some samples when you get it?

20dB atten at 120 degrees... that seems like it would be perfect for a snare mic... if it doesnt suck sonically...

I have a consecutive pair of KM184s as well as a matched pair of the Josephesons (series 4, don't know the model off the top of my head). The Josephesons were $900 for the pair and compare quite nicely to the KMs. You could get 4 the Josephesons and have OH plus hat & ride for the same price as a pair of KM184s.

The KMs are a little brighter than the Josephesons but it's not that the later are dull, just that the KMs are pretty bright.

You can't go wrong with the KMs though...
