So I've been getting more and more cables as the need arises, and now I'm at a place where they just all get messed together, and I just keep them all in a basket.
Anyone got a good way they keep there cables so they are easily accessible and stay untangled?

Buy cables to the length that you need thus eliminating unnecessary slack where possible.
Install permanently in conduits as many of your cables as possible.
Hang up guitar and other instrument leads on the wall.
Get a cable snake/stage box for control rooms.
Use large capacity (I.e. more sockets) power splitters rather than lots of shitty little 3 ways.
Get a power distribution unit for racks, etc.

Yes, sir.

I keep mine properly coiled and kept together with the velcro strips that Wolfeman mentioned. I also use a label maker to make a descriptor tag for each one such as "20ft 1/4" stereo with Y split" so that I don't have to fiddle with each one to find what I'm looking for. I also find that having them on a set of pegs on the wall in the storage closet makes them easier to access than in a bucket.

I use crates like scorpio posted. My cables are all wrapped up and bound, though, so there's no real issue with them tangling.
