hey guys who keep their cabs in the studio but amps in the control room....what cables are you using to go from one room to the other and what length is the maximum recommended to go from amp to cab?

I don't have a control room setup like that, but I use pretty much only Mogami cables. I do know with 1/4" depending on the gauge you don't want to run very far as signal loss is introduced (the high end I believe is shelved off first). I'm guessing something around 50ft max on a single cable, but ideally you'll want something only as long as needed.
i use 12 gauge speaker cable with 1/4" connectors, i have a 50ft length.
you shouldn't be overly concerned about any noise, due to that the signal going to the cab is going to be many times stronger than anything else that might interfere with the signal. that is unless you live under a radio tower
