Calling All Guitar Experts/Buffs/Know-it-alls

I've got (or rather, my mother has) a vintage Takamine classical acoustic guitar, which was originally purchased in 1971.

Inside the F-hole, the sticker reads "Diastone hand-crafted by Takamine: model No FN-70"

Can anyone here tell me about this or similar guitars? Their history, famous users, approximate value, etc.

PS- Guitar is in near-mint condition, with no rust, scuffs or imperfections in the surface. There are a few scratches (on the scratchguard) but that is even minimal.
