What up... hey guys just had a quick question about treating my room... currently i have my garage split in half so i have a small control room 10ftx10ft and the "live room" 10ftx10ft too... So my dad brought 2 complete bundles of Johns Manville R-30 fiber insulation from work(got the free!!) and I was thinking can i use that insulation to make some bass traps...

I was planning on buying some compressed glasswool insulation like Owens Corning 703 but since I dont know where I can purchase the 703 cheaply or around my area... would it be a good idea to use the R-30 thats just laying in my backyard??

it works, it's just not near as efficient due to the lower density

a lot of people will stuff insulation into bags or even trash cans with no lids for ghetto bass trapping...remember the more you cram in, the better absorption you'll achieve

Just make sure you cover the stuff with some cloth of something like that, you don't want to be getting that stuff on your skin breathing it in.
