Can someone please walk me through how to connect digimax fs to RME FF400?

Hey guys,

Had a FF400 for a while now and i just bought a Presonus Digimax fs and I am trying to connect them through adat but i am not sure what to do after connecting the cable haha

I am using cubase 5 and help would be amazing

What's the issue you're having? Do you have your inputs assigned in Cubase's F4 menu?

TotalMix should have a menu where you activate adat inputs on the FF400- then route the adat in Cubase

Hey guys I think I got it. The Adat inputs weren't visible so I made them visible and was able activate them. Should be good now but inevitably ill run into a problem as soon as I have a band here lol

I still haven't gotten total mix figured out with the Adat yet though

Make sure you set your clock to slave to ADAT unless you are running a bnc or adat out of the FF and back to the digimax (at which point make sure the digimax is set to the appropriate external clock). Huge transient spikes are the symptom of sync issues (really loud clicks/snaps).

I'm just running an Adat cable from the output of the digimax to the input Adat of the FF. then I pressed the internal button on the digimax and it seemed to work fine although I haven't run it on all inputs at once or for a long period of time yet

i'd be syncing/clocking to the rme. like said previously, just use 2 adat cables, in and out.

Why would I need to go in an out?

So the unit will clock/sync to your rme, as Egan said eariler.
