...can you still be a true prog music fan....

Funny you say that...I enjoyed beef jerky when I was taking ballet classes!

TDF: That's like asking if you can still be considered a metal fan if you like showtunes, or any genre of music outside of metal. Sure you can! You don't have to be a one-note wonder when it comes to music you like. :)

Hey, why not? Just think of yourself as well-rounded ~ hehe!

...if you still like listening to 80's bands like 'poison'?...

Sure you can!

If you can listen to Jimmy Buffet, you can still be a metal fan. Just ask Glenn! :)

Seriously - I still listen to a limited amount of non-metal music, but as time goes on I listen to much less of it. I was a big fan of U2 back in the 80s and I occasionally listen to them even now. That's now the exception and not the rule.

Every day, I thank my lucky stars* I'm not a one-genre music fan, or a 'meathead metalhead.'
Life with just one flavor of ice-cream would be pretty fucking boring.

* I also thank my lucky stars I'm not superstitious :heh:

I know over the last ten years, my truly prog listening has gone way down, and my metal listening gone way up. I still spin my favorites, but don't even go looking for new prog anymore. Now if you're really talking prog-metal, then well, nevermind.

I can't wait for PPX. Come on already!

I don't see why not.. I've got some hair bands on my iPod...

And I'm about to put on the new Carbonleaf and Matt Nathenson's new one... neither metal, but both VERY good

<~~ Reverend Horton Heat lover!!! J-I-M-B-O, J-I-M-B-O JIMBO!@!!!!

I've been listening to pretty much only pop music for the last month (except for some After Forever). I guess that means I'm out of the club.

Now playing: Lily Allen - The Fear
