i am on pt 10 on a pc and i am wondering if i can track thru the revalver amp sim plug in real time or can i only insert it on a di track after it has been recorded.

given its ability to suck the life out of your computer when tracking...

I'd use a lighter ampsim and then add revalver to the DI's later...

so how does it work while tracking, if you record enable a track with a plug on it, wont the plug become inactive?

or do you set up a aux track with revalver on it and buss it to an audio track and record it that way?

Depends on the DAW you're using...

The ones i've used (Logic/reaper/Pro-Tools) no, they leave the plugin active... but like I say, I'd used something basic to get the track recorded (Some good sansamp ampsims), then add revalver later to mix...

im on PT 10.

ill have to DL the demo to se how cpu hungry it is.

wouldnt there be latency if you track through a plug.

having latency on fast triplet gallop picking isnt going to work.

Works fine for me and my PC is from 2004, AMD single core 2.4ghz, 3gb ram. Running TC Electronic Konnekt 8 firewire interface, with about 5ms latency at 256bitrate 24bit 48khrz.

Running and recording multiple tracks while playing a drum VST is a different story... so I render my drum track beforehand to record multiple guitars.
