Not sure if anyone could answer this or not but I thought I'd ask.

I want to get a sound system for my car but I'm unsure what I need exactly for what I'm trying to achieve. I had a system in my car before and it was ok but I wasn't satisfied, the Sub Woofer couldn't keep up with the double bassing in the Metal songs I listen to. Get what I'm saying, when the drummer on a track is going fast I want to be able to feel each beat and still have it clean and crisp, basically as close to a live sound as possible.

Anyone know how to achieve this if it is in fact possible. Someone told me that three 10 or 8 inch subs might work??? :kickass:

I'm in the same position right now. From what I understand it is more the quality of the subs that determines if it can keep up with the double pedal.

Just don't get a huge sub.

One of my friends has a fucking huge one (it's gotta be 15 inches or something retarded like that) and you can barely make out a note. It sucks.

Somebody suggested I put tweaks in my car if I wanted a louder sound and offered to sell them fro 40 $ to me, but I declined, I have my car stereo the loudest it'll go and it's fine. He also told me bad production black metal doesn't sound good coming loudly from your car on a system, anyone have any experience with that?

Don't waste money on a car sound system..just buy the new Lexus IS250...13 apeakers in the car and everything is carefully studied to have the best accoustic possible inside. A pure delight. :p

just buy a head unit and louder speakers...adding more bass is for coon tunes only, ive heard some of suffocations 'human waste' on a car set up for booming and it was quite amusing but you couldnt make out anything besides the drumming

I'm not really looking for a really loud sound, my goal isn't for everyone to hear me two miles away. I just wanted a crips sounding bass with some power, not looking for a competitive sound system, I'm not into car audio like that, but I do love my music and I would like to have a nice sound when I'm in my car.

And yes I do listen to my music louder than I should... its a bad habit.

Seriously three 10" JL Audio subs in the trunk will do the trick. They keep up w/ any blastbeats. Some nice Alpine mids and highs in the inside.
You will then be ready to take on the wiggers who blast 50cent next to you at the stoplight. Its YOUR turn to offend old people and porchdwellers in your neighborhood.

just get a digital radio w/ CD player and maybe 1-2 extra speakers, sub woofer are for fags. If you want bass a standard car radio can do the trick without going overboard.

oh and btw spending a lot of money of something like a car is dumb because it loses value every time you put the key in the contact.

If you want a loud system with clear and crisp sound, just get a couple of Infinity Kappa 6x9's. my buddy has two n his car with a decent amp and everything is so clear a sounds amazing. they dont get distorted easily and its not all bass.

Thanks for stating the obvious...lol

I'm not looking to increase the value of my vehicle as I know that an automobile is the worst investment. Again I'm not looking to spend thousands of dollars on an audio system. I just enjoy listening to music in my car and would like to get a decent sound, nothing crazy, or competition level, just something with a little more power than the standard stock radio.

Besides just being a metal head and enjoying the music I also play the drums, and yeah I suck, but I love double bass and would love to be able to upgrade my stereo to accommodate that sound.

But I hear what your saying, some people do not wish to put their money into something like this, which is understandable.

Don't get larger than 10 inch sub. You want a tight, punchy sound for double bass drums. And you definitely don't need three of them. Actually, don't get a sub at all unless you're going to get a very good quality one. There's nothing worse than booming, distorted bass ruining a metal tune. As someone said before, 6x9 speakers would be a great choice, as you'd get a lot of bass without the booming.

Thanks that sounds like a good idea. I'm not knowledgable when it comes to this stuff but I think the 6x9 would be classified as the "Mids" and I've noticed that a lot of the punchy bass that I'm looking for has come from this section rather than a subwoofer. I think you may be right on this, I'll look into it when I get home.

But, if you get a huge sub, you'll be able to feel your balls bouncing to blastbeats, doublebass, and porno-bass!

Think about it, would you rather have clear audio, or bouncing balls?

You guys are all wrong. Subs make a hell of a difference! Not just for shitty rap! It all depends on how the enclosure was made.

First of all, to really help you, what kind of car do you have? Sedan, truck, coupe? Knowing the year make and model is essential because different cars have different set ups.

Secondly, do you intend to use your current head unit? Some factory head units are pretty damn good, while some suck donkey dick.

Third, what kind of budget have you set aside? To get the most out of a system, you MUST purchase an amplifier; multi channel, 3, 4 or 6 preferably. And don't buy a shitty one! Ordinarily, if you don't have a car that can handle 6x9" speakers, you'd want to get a sub. If you listen to metal, a large sub isn't neccessary. You can get away with a decent tube if you have a hatchback, or have easy access from the interior to the trunk. Some manufactures like JL Audio make custom enclosures making loss of storage space minimal. That's one manufacturer that I highly reccommend.

PM me if you want more details.

That's a nice car. The Mark Levinson sound systems are some of the best factory systems on the market today.

Turn the bass down from your stereo dial, it just distorts the sound without adding anything anyway. Metal recordings are all mids and treble, so a sub does nothing except make the kick bass louder.
