Rumor flying around the Earache Records camp over at metaltracks.com, from information gathered from the mouths of Jeff Walker and Bill Steer of Liverpool goregrind superstars CARCASS and Adrian Erlandsson, Drummer of Swedish melodic-death masters AT THE GATES, at the recent Metal Hammer Awards in London suggest that both bands are considering reforming and going on tour together in the near future.

However, in an email to SMNnews.com, from an Earache representative, it's been said that there are no plans for a new album between either act, just the proposed tour.

this would either be amazing or go really wrong. either way, i think theyd both be doing it for the money. at least ATG.

The rumour about At the Gates has been going around a LONG time, but Carcass was new. If this happens, I'm going. Even if they don't play in Sweden, I'd be willing to travel abroad just to see AT THE FUCKING GATES. Not that they will likely pull out "Windows" or "Raped by the Light of Christ", but anyway.

I am a big Carcass fan but doubt it's going to happen.

At The Gates sucks and so does The Haunted. If ATG reforms I hope people throw bottles at them.

In an e-mail sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Björler said, "Just wanted to tell you that the rumours about the AT THE GATES reunion are untrue."

Since the twins decided that it would be in their best interest to leave and break up At the Gates and form the shit we know of as "The Haunted" that very same year, they obviously arn't thinking too straight. The tour probably won't happen, and if it does I'm willing to bet us US fans will miss out.

oh, also.. Former CARCASS frontman Jeff Walker has contacted BLABBERMOUTH.NET to refute a rumor that the much-missed Liverpool, U.K.-based gore-grind pioneers may be reuniting for a possible tour.

God if this happens I am so fucking going, no matter what. It would be such an awesome show, and I'd fucking probably pay a lot to see them both.

I wonder if Carcass will play mostly newer or older material? I am actually a fan of their older shit like Descanting...amazing album. Never really liked Heartwork or the final one all that much.

Dammit. just finished read this thread....well, there goes the chances of seeing Carcass. $%&$% I've seen a lot of my other favourite death metal bands, but never Carcass. :(

Why would it matter? Their time has passed. Fight for something new! (Practice those instruments, and accept nothing but the best, gas the rest!)
