Carnun Rising play old school style death metal, though the music doesnt sound dated in the least. The riffs are very thrashy, with lots of rapidly picked palm muted rhythms. The guitar tone is nice and thick, but not overly processed. Michael OSullivans vocal delivery is a standard death growl, and it is quite effective in the context of the music. There is lots of thrash influence in the music, and occasionally a clear Morbid Angel influence is evident as well. Carnun Rising arent overly br00tal, melodic, original, or technical (though track 5 does feature an impressive passage of technical riffing towards the middle). What they do offer is straight up old school death metal with heaps of thrash influence. They are very good at what they do, so if this is the kind of thing you are looking for, I can only recommend it.
