Character Plugins Recommendations?

Hey all,
I'm at the point where I want to expand my eq and comp plugs to include some nice 'character' options.
Anyone have any recommendations on model/pack and uses?

Nebula is the king of 'character' plug-ins for me. Just load it up with a nice 3rd party outboard EQ or console program and you're in character-city.

I like waves MPX. Sometimes it's the only thing i use on certain tracks, it gives it a nice smooth coloration and compression.

I wish i could try out Nebula to hear what all the talk is about but unfortunately i run on ProTools exclusively.

oh man, there are SO MANY.... many aren't even adverted as 'character' plugs but do just that.... all of the NEW EQ's from PSP Audioware are INCREDIBLE....the ClassicQ and NobleQ are my faves... the compressor is also very colorful in a super useable way.....oldTimer, and ESPECIALLY MixSaturator set to 'Tape 3'. Amazing.

Just look around and try different things.... anything by Softube, Brainworx, PSP Audioware, etc. has modeled circuitry throughout.... Softube's Trident A-Range emu comes to mind.... the 'color' or in this case, distortion if you will is variable, almost like a threshold knob... it sounds shite on pretty much everything but RULES DICKKKKKK on guitars and SOMETIMES bass... tends to eat up too much low-end for bass but that's what makes it so PERFECT for GTR's..
