Noiserecords pressrelease :

"Right after the European tour with Annihilator, SEVEN WITCHES and Wade Black decided to part ways due to personal reasons. Wade wants to focus on his solo career now. Before long Jack Frost, Joey Vera and Brian Craig will start recording the fourth WITCHES album "BETRAYER", expected to be released in February 2003 as the follow-up album to "Xiled To Infinity And One".
The hottest candidate for the vocals is Charles Rytkönen, his unmistakable voice well-known from his days with both Morgana Lefay and Lefay. Jack has been a fan of Charles' for ages and Charles seems to be rather interested as well ..."

I'm pleased to see that Jack Frost already found a new great singer, and I hope with him they will improve the songwriting, which isn't bad but far from being outstanding.
What do you think of these news?

Flo

I hope it's not true. Charles should be recording a new CD with Lefay now and then touring...not joining Jack Frost. Wade should of stayed in the band, but I guess the problems there were too big to overcome. I just hope that this doesn't affect any new Lefay material in even the SMALLEST way. Lefay comes first...there should be no time for other bands.

 WTF? Are you kidding?? They lost Wade just two days ago!
Nah.......I quite like Seven Witches but I'm not sure if I wanted to see Chulle with them. Can't believe he is really interested either

No matter if or not, I wish him the best...
but as Micke said, I also hope it won't effect Lefay.
I see no probs with a musician being in more than one band...
It's very common these days anyway! :D

You need to read the press release more carefully. It says Charles is the "hottest candidate", which means Jack would certainly like to have him in the band, and at this point, he really needs someone high-profile to keep that band afloat.

Personally, I'd much rather see a new Lefay album than have him spend his time and talents on Seven Witches. If he does decide to go with Seven Witches...well, I'll buy anything Charles sings on, but I would hope that he would concentrate on Lefay. I think it would be much more worthwhile for him ;)

I whole-heartedly agree with you Scott.
(Morgana) Lefay have been one of my favourite bands for so many years now. I was so happy they got together again...

Seven Witches has always had several line up problems, so maybe Charles wouldn't like to stay a long time in a band who has an incertain future...I don't know

Anyway as long as he stays in Lefay, it's ok for me.

Well first I have not heard anything of Seven Witches, except a half song or something like that.
Second. I spoke some with Lefay under there signing-session at Sweden Rock and they said that the hopefully would be playing some gigs here and there in the future, but that it could take awile til we see a new CD. Why? Money. They dont have the right amont of money to do a new album.

Anyway I dont think that Chulle would do anything that would harm Lefay in anyway, cause its now(Again!) a band, and its more or less, together with Tony, his creation. But why would joining another band be something negative? Ok, they are in diffrent countries but that will propobly not be any problem. What I think it can do is generate in more promotion for Lefay and hopfully some more money so it will be enough for a new Lefay CD.

As long as it doesn´t effect Lefay I think its cool. I mean, I don´t mind hearing Charles singing in other bands then Lefay, but if it effect Lefay then I would see it as bad news.

Their 2 first albums are not really impressive in my opinion, whereas the last one is pretty cool.
Xiled to Infinity and One has some good songs, and Wade Black (ex-Crimson Glory) is a strong singer.

But they're way far from Lefay in terms of personality and songwriting...

Hm... I'll wait till it is official confirmed. I got a message of a friend today telling me that Jack himself did confirm it, but romours are pretty fast up by misunderstandings...

Someone just needs to read the title of this topic. Without reading the actual statement one could assume that it is already confirmed.

Well, I read in a mail by a very reliable source (a label manager) that it is already done so that's why I wrote this topic...

But things can change so fast ;)

Well then its only for us to wait and see.
BTW, Silke. It would be fun if you could get a statment from Chulle and hear what he knows etc
