I guess its cool having a metallica tattoo on your wrist. That is all the big 4 is. It's a huge Metallica show. They play 2 hours, have the huge stage show, have the fonts all in Metallica fonts. Metallica didn't do this for any other reason than they knew it would draw 100k fans at each show. The big 4 is nothing more than a Metallica headlining show. Anthrax has 10 percent of the audience in the stadum when they play their 30 minute set. It sounds a lot cooler than it really is.

It's like being in a local band and you get the first opening slot playing for a semi large club act and then going and telling all of your friends that you just played a show with a 'insert band name here' band.

In reality you just played in front of 10 people as the fans of 'insert band name here' were in the parking lot drinking beers. Anthrax is the same thing. They are playing while the Metallica audience is outside drinking beers and getting home from work

Anthrax is pushing for them more than anyone. That is because Anthrax is a club band. If they get big 4 tours they get to play huge venues. Even at 20 percent capacity a stadium tour has 20 times more fans than a club show. Metallica could care less about the Big 4. They will play whatever shows make them the most money. If it happens to be a big 4 they will do it. If it happens to be their own headlining tour they will do that.

If the big 4 tour profits were split evenly between the 4 bands there is no way in hell Metallica would ever do it.

Anthrax needs the bigger venues to get the word out that they are still a band and pick up some fans they may otherwise not have.

I haven't seen too much about Megadeth or Slayer pushing so hard to have more big 4 tours. Megadeth is doing their own festival tour, Slayer can still play large venues. Anthrax is stuck at a large club level venue. They need the big 4's a lot more than Metallica.
