I have posted the song in a previous thread,

http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/rate-my-mix-tone-threads/540968-help-ballance-my-mix.html

I'm starting to think that guitar tone from my recto is one of the (many) problems of the mix. I took d.i.'s when I tracked but was kinda half embarrassed to put them up because I'm not satisfied with the quality of my playing.

inside the zip is also a midi of the drums for anyone that wants to give it a go. I am also think about at some point that I may just put all the tracks up and pay one of you guys to mix it. I have dumped at least 40 hours into mixing this song(my first real mix for my band) and I'm just starting to get really frustrated because I'm still learning a great deal.

anyways please let me know if they work for re-amping!

i used a samson direct box(30$) and a emg81.

Here you go. Keep in mind I am posting this only 30 mins from when I got the files, so it might not sound perfect as I did it pretty quick. :)

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/437070/Recemgsol DI Test GuitarHack.mp3

Just HP/LP on guitar tracks and GClip on MB.

Will upload the wav's in a little while.

There is quite a lack of Low-end with these DI's. Didn't know how much Bass to dial in on the amp without having a Bass Guitar in the Backing track.

damn im totally digging how it sounds! i think i may re-record the d.i.'s and get em tighter. thanks for these dude!

No probs. :kickass:

EDIT: Greg I agree, they are definitely useable. The low-end will be filled out with the Bass Guitar I assume. The lack of bass in the DI's give those nice tight mutes.

Recemgsol, loving the whammy riff around 1:56 :headbang:

fucking 30$ D.I. box win :)

everyone i show the song too love the whammy riff lol! glad you dig it man!

Hi what did you use for guitar? I did the mix with pod farm and req6 waves

It's just LePou SoloC and Le456 ampsim with GuitarHacks impulses. Also there is PSP MixSaturator and C4 on guitars.
I'm going to buy this samson direct box. Pretty good and cheap.

BTW you should record 2 more tracks of guitar and make sure you play powerchords on these 2 new guitars where you play the open single notes. It would sound better/thicker IMO.

Also I am interested in mixing the whole thing, I can do it for free.
