Just picked these up the other day. I spent a week in the states & took advantage of the tax break.

These sound simply amazing on heavy rhythms & lead guitars. Quite shocking, actually. I bought these for drums, mainly. So far I've only had my crappy ass drumming to work with, but I've got a new project coming in on Saturday so I'll be able to put them through thier paces.

Even with me playing, I noticed a serious improvement on overheads, as opposed to the Ward Becks I've been running for the last few years.

I'll get some clips up as soon as I can.

I got them at Vintage King for $676 each. If you buy four, you get a free lunchbox for them, which is about $400 otherwise. What a great deal.

You can check it out here:

BTW, I did do a back to back preamp test with myself on the drums... and yeah, I'm the only one that's gonna hear that as I'm fucking horrendous behind the kit.

yea i was just about to ask if you got a lunchbox for those bad boys... I want api so bad with the 8 space rack box so i can have pre's and add some comps and eq if I wanted along the way.

You should try them on vocals also and post clip:Saint:

Congrats Oz!
You can add me to that jealous list.
I'm dying to here comparisons of guitars with it, the Vintech 72 and the Great River.

We need a praying smilie.

Yeah, the lunchbox is the Power Supply & I/O. The cool thing is, there's a bunch of companies that make things to fit the form factor. I'm thinking on maybe loading up the last two slots with either 2 more 512c's or perhaps a pair of those Shadow Hills preamps.

yea dude there is all kinds of company's that make not only preamps but compressors and eq's to fit the lunchbox... Thats why i want the big rack one that has like 8-10 slots. So you can always get more:kickass:

I read a review in tape op that was giving high regard to one of the osa preamps i think it was called the big dog or something. Ive never heard of that shadows hills preamp. Going to have to check into those!!
