Check out Red Dog Music, good clearance deals

my god yeah they are awesome!! i got massive props in just recently for one of my last projects about the mic used for vocals as they said it sounded soo clear and natural, I used the Gemini valve mic. However that thing costs a fortune!! :)

But yeah, those 2200As sound amazing, much better than the Rode NT1a counterpart. They are much less brittle in the top end, and have a very nice smooth transition into the lower frequencies!

always wanted to thry the tube version of the 2200A however, having a tube preamp, i decided against a tube mic of any sort really until i get a nice clean transformer based pre.

sE Electronics R1 for £179!!!?!?!?! WTF? Massive saving on that! Complete bargain for whoever gets that.

Skeksis, SE stuff is considered really good for the money, Paul White from Sound On Sound swears by the 2200A and uses it frequently on sessions, and I've heard of some folk loving the SE4's on snare drums as well as overheads and acoustics.

Good company btw for those who haven't used/heard of them. Got my Peavey XXX from there for £699 last year.

I bought the R1, couldn't say no to a deal that good and seeing as i'd been looking for a ribbon mic anyway......

Nice on man! Remember SOS doing a ribbon mic shootout a while back and it came out on top for some things up against very expensive mic's.

Gonna have to get us some clips with it!

Might have to wait a while for decent clips as i'm banished to the realm of almost 100% digital ITB while i'm living in university halls. I might be able to record some acoustic stuff though if i can find one somewhere
