Nah I doubt this tour will be a blowout like Dark Funeral, there was some shoddy organisation behind that one...

But anyway, WOOHOO!

Dark Funeral didn't happen because the guitarist got in a shit fight with the rest of the band and walked out. Nothing to do with the organisational skills of the promoters.
But nothing like that looks to be happening with Opeth or the fuck up of their last supposed tour when the promoters and managers didn't tell the band when they were suppose to heading out to Australia.
And I's haven't heard anything about tickets as yet. Not through Ticketek or Utopia (for the Sydney gig) but I's sure Triple J will be announcing were and when the tickets go on sale on tuesday's Full Metal Racket.
Peace

Dark Funeral were still willing to tour even without the guitarist, though. The dates were announced without the band even agreeing on the confirmation of the tour, and seems like they pulled out because no one in their camp knew what the hell was going on... there was even a particular band announced as a support when none of the members had even been asked if they'd want to play. Great organisation there, jumping the gun like that.

As for Opeth's last supposed tour, them not knowing about it doesn't sound right, as it said on their official site a few months before the planned dates that they were intending to visit these shores, in early 2002 I think it was meant to be?

OK. I's work in one of the bars that Dark Funeral was meant to be playing and what I's said is the offical version we were told of why they weren't coming. I's never heard the rest about still wanting to come out despite their guitarist leaving.

And I's heard so many different reasons why Opeth didn't come out in November of 2001 (and Apirl/June of 2002) it just make my's head spin. So I's just cited the one I's heard several times, counting that one as most-likely to be the truth.
Oh, well. So many people with so many stories, I's guess.

Pimp Neonblack. Are you Jah Jah Binks in disguise?

No.
And it ain't smart to call a pimp that. 'Cause unlike badly created and executed fictional characters, a pimp will bitchslap you back to the last century.
Hope that helps you, Union9, in all your future endevours. (mutters: Jah Jah Binks in-fucking-deed. . . Cunt of a thing he is).

do you know who the promoter is?

I's haven't heard anything concrete yet but since Opeth are now distributed by Century Media, and thus Shock Records in Oz, the promoter is most likely going to be Joe Troppiarno (the manager of Daysend). But this is only a rumour, so don't hold The Pimp to anything.

But I's heard that Alchemist has scored the national support for Opeth.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?
