CHICAGO POWERFEST 2007 ANNOUNCES DATES, NEW VENUE & FIRST CONFIRMED BANDS
CRJ Productions, the promoters of CHICAGO POWERFEST, would like to announce that the 5th annual metal festival will take place on Friday, April 20th and Saturday, April 21st at The Pearl Room in Mokena, IL. All ages welcome...plus CD/Merch vendors on-hand, giveaways and more.

Since it's beginning, the POWERFEST continues to establish itself as a weekend event of unrelenting METAL...featuring internationally-known and up-and-coming bands spanning various styles/sub-genres of metal with one common goal - to give fans a show they won't soon forget!!

To date, the first bands confirmed for the fest are Canada's technical death metal artists MARTYR, and Chicago's very own dark metal artists NOVEMBERS DOOM...both currently occupy the 2nd & 3rd slots (5 total) on the Saturday night of the fest. In addition, Ohio's thrash metallers SHATTER MESSIAH, featuring former NEVERMORE/ANNIHILATOR guitarist Curran Murphy and ex-ARCHETYPE vocalist Greg Wagner, have confirmed as the Friday night opener.

The remaining bands, which also include both headliners and both direct supports, will be announced in the upcoming weeks as they become confirmed. Ticket information will also be made available once the line-up is complete.

Never heard Martyr before but I am watching the full live show on their website and HOLY CRAP do these guys RIP!!!:OMG:
Check out the live Martyr show moyen format. :headbang:

Are you going Kent? I didn't go to previous Powerfests due to the fact it was held J.J. Kelly's. I hate that place. Since its at the Pearl Room this year I might go.

The lineup isn't overly appealing but I might, just might have to make a trip. By then I'll have some serious cabin fever and needing to get out.

Me and Kathy will be going unless I drop dead by then... which is always a possibility! It is too close NOT to go... and by watching the Martyr live vid... I just fell in love with them so I am thinking I have to see them live!!!

We have had a good time everytime that we have went and I would more than love you all to be there!!!

I attended Chicago PowerFest last April. The name should be changed to FaggotFest, or Crap-Fest.

Agent Steel was the only thing worth seeing and as expected, blew everyone out of the water. Nocturnal Rites? more like Bon Jovi. Eldritch, more like gar-Bidge. Bio-Mechanical, more like "that band is terrible." Morgana LeFay, well you figure it out. The rest of the bands: who the fuck cares?

Agent Steel schools everyone

Fuck all of you!

I'm not done,

No one should see this waste of time and space. Save your money. By the way, my 3 friends got in for free when they grabbed wristbands from the ground (right in front of the ticket booth), put them on, and walked right in. We watched a host of shitty bands, the names I can't remember right now because they were terrible.

This show is worthless, do not go, or go and pick up a wristband and walk right in, either way you are still an asshole for considering going.

Brocas Helm is better than all of you. And unless Brocas Helm, Slough Feg, Manilla Road, and Brocas Helm are booked, I'm not attending.

And, what is "Old School" about fruity power metal bands. Fates Warning, Omen, Helstar, and Fates Warning (even new Fates Warning) are still better than every band's best work at the last FlowerFest.

Flower rhymes with Power.

I'll have to see if I still have a live-in babysitter for the dogs. That and how expensive flights will be. Denver - Chicago is a pretty hot route so it ought to be competitive. I ain't driving that far that time of year. I'd rather risk ice forming on the wings.
