Anyone pick this up?

I remember liking the clips, but I haven't looked into it anymore because I have no money, and I have to spend wisely.

Can anyone attest to the quality of the album?:cool:

It's a great album..and it sounds amazing ( Andy Johns production, Mike Frasier Mix)

If your looking for this band to try to break new ground you might want to look elsewhere

If you want to hear seasoned musicians do the things there known for It's quite good....

It actually sounds like they got together, jelled as a band and recorded a pretty live sounding disc without alot of doctoring and polishing...just well played tracks....

It's a good record. Don't expect it to change your life, and don't expect good lyrics. It's a fun album with killer playing on it, well engineered. It's also almost entirely performed live in the studio, really shows off how fucking great these guys are - this is the kind of musicianship that Andy was talking about in the "Pro Tools Backlash" thread that's missing from most bands today. In that sense, it definitely is inspiring.

Thanks guys. I wasn't expecting the apocalypse or anything, I just wanna make sure it's a solid album. I heard from Satriani that it's mostly jammed out and there was no click, so it definitely will have that old school feel.

I'll be picking this up I suppose.

Yeah the prod sounded good to me but I couldn't get past the lyrics...I mean...the vocals can even be tolerated, but the lyrics are so weak IMO. Overall, not going crazy about it, not much of a Satch fan to begin with so I'm not too impressed.

When they leaked a couple tracks a few months ago ("Soap" and "Drain", if memory serves), I found them sooooo incredibly boring. They sounded like someone tried to make an entire song out of a single throwaway riff they heard someone ad-libbing with their left hand while using their right to dial in a basic tone on a Marshall amp at Guitar Center one day.

Is the rest of the album pretty much the same as those two tracks, or does it get better?

Hahahahaahahahaha, now THAT is an analogy :lol: (and of course it had to have been an AVT, right in the middle of the unashamed garbage of the MG series and not quite on the level of the still-questionable JCM2k's :D)

it had to have been an AVT

Nah, the tone was okay enough for web clips. It's just the riffs themselves (one per song) seemed like the sort of ultra basic first position double-stop-hammer-on-hammer-off-hammer-on-BEND! ZZ/DC thing guys feel compelled to play as soon as they plug a Les Paul into a Marshall, just to see if they're working.

{tries not to look guilty}

Just listen. The Guitars have this weird ambience to them. I really Like that. Suppose it does give that really Jammy Vibe

After 2 songs, i had to turn it off. Songs got Old real quick.

I didnt Realise how signtaure Chad smiths Sound/ Playing is. I didnt see the line up and within the first second of drums, i was like " this sounds like Chillipepers". Mind you i have never herd him play anything else besides Chilli peppers.
