yeah and even worse you cant hear the base hardly...

flat sound and no bass == SUXXX!

i mean preach didnt have to good of pruduction but least you could hear everything well :)

This was the first Testament CD I bought!
In the beginning, I didnt like it, cuz it sounded so boring to me that time..
couples months later, I fell in love with it!!!!
They composed those songs so perfectly! A high-class masterpiece!!!

Falling Fast is my fav.
heavy intro, some good melody, and fucking crazy solo!!!!!!!
it blew me away!!!!!

face in the sky is great, too....
cute solo!!!!!

I don't think Souls of Black is all that 'weak' as it's been
said here. The Production wasnt that bad either.
I know when I bought Souls of Black back when it
came out, it reflected a period of time in Bay Area Metal.
Sure things have changed since, but the songs are
strong and the songs are good.

You can disagree with me, that's cool.

I dig Souls of Black. It still holds up 12 years after
it was released.

well compired to other testament albums im a frade i would call it weak, but thats only because testament holds some of the greatest thrash albums ever made imo.

so when i say weak, weak for testament is still probably ahead of most other thrash bands.... i give souls of black, 6/10 , where i give the gathering and the legacy 10/10

mebby this will help explain my point :)

Well, that does explain things better. In hindsight,
you could say that about anything really I suppose
but in keeping with subject, I choose to remember
what was going on as a whole back then.
Hopefully I won't get flamed too much when I say this,
Souls was not as heavy as 'New Order' or 'Practice' but
at the time, it was pretty heavy, heavier than some of
their peers in the genre and they never did sell out.
Is it an assumption on my part that Alex Skolnick was trying
to incorporate too much melody in their songs?
