THIS WEEK ON THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW: One guy that has become a friend of the show over the last few years is also one of the busiest guys in the world of music today. Chris Caffery is not only the on-stage leader of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, but he fills in for any band that asks him to play some gigs for them, continues to keep the hopes for a new Savatage record alive, and additionally does new solo material that flat out rocks. Caffery has a brand new album called PINS AND NEEDLES, which is his most fierce to date. We'll do a New Music Listening Party for PINS AND NEEDLES, and Caffery will check in with the CMS once again to talk about the new CD, the upcoming projects in the world of TSO, and whatever else comes up in conversation. If you've heard Chris on the show before, then I'm sure you know it'll be a good one.

Also on tap is a listening party for one of the most anticipated metal releases in 2007 - Megadeth. Dave Mustaine and company came back from the dead a few years ago with THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED, and now it looks like Megadeth is out to prove that it wasn't a fluke. Full of anger about the world we live in today, UNITED ABOMINATIONS is arguably the best Megadeth album of the last 15 years. We'll do a New Music Listening Party for UNITED ABOMINATIONS, and we'll lurk around the press junket to see if we can't scare up an interview with the mighty Mustaine himself.

Finally, we're going to do something a bit different for the show this week. We're going to venture slightly out of the "Classic Metal" ranks a bit and reach back into the world of "Classic Rock" for a little bit. Foghat, the band that brought you "Slow Ride" and "Fool For The City", continues to tour around the United States and relive their glory days on stage each and every summer. They have a brand new live album called FOGHAT LIVE II which showcases the current lineup rockin' the stoners of the state fair syndicate. Current lead vocalist Charlie Huhn not only carries on the Foghat legacy in fine fashion, but he's got a lot of Classic Metal history as well; replacing Derek St. Holmes in the Ted Nugent band years ago, as well as fronting the underappreciated Victory. Huhn has agreed to stop by and walk down memory lane - not only about Foghat, but about Victory and working with The Nuge as well. It's sure to be entertaining.
