Chroma Key

i like 'space-dye vest' pretty much, except those gay synth sounds at the end of the track. but the lyrics and the song itself are dead good. please note that im not a dream theater fan at all. i kinda hate them music actually.

Me too. I like some prog bands (Rush, King Crimson, Fates Warning) but DT piss me off. The should kick that LaBrie dude out and cut down the keys...

I see your point. Though I am a fan of DT I don't see "space-dye vest" as a DT-song rather than a Kevin Moore song. Guess he knew he would leave when he wrote that one.

What do you think of Chroma Key Medhi?

i just cant listen to anything that has to do with prog. brain wanking is pretty annoying, and instrument wanking even more if you want my opinion. i dont mind when a song takes ages to go to the point, but the problem is that these prog songs are pointless imo

that song has nothing to do with typical DT songs, as it deals with proper doom and that, not with fantasy conceptual brain wanking stories.

i never heard chroma key dude, but they're on my 'have-to-check-them' for ages now. knowing that i like 'space-dye vest' pretty much and this kind of stuff, maybe you could advice me a couple of songs i'll download at the end of this week now that i got kazaa

oh and for the record, it's meHdi ;)

I'll remember that.

I just got the "new" album a couple of days ago, so I can't really say anything about that yet, but the first album "dead air for radios" are magnificent. The album works as a whole, but can name a few songs though:

"on the page" reminds me a bit of "space-dye vest. "Colourblind", "undertow" are very good songs. "mouse" is a brilliant song, but you ought to hear the whole album because its the last song on the album and it closes it quite perfectly.

" I dont mind when a song takes ages to go to the point, but the problem is that these prog songs are pointless "

*snip*

I like that. I'm gonna nick it.

Because the style of music he ( kevin moore ) play in chroma key are quite different from what he used to play in DT. Chroma key songs are pretty minimalistic and absolutely not progressive, whereas he did just about the opposite in DT ( as you probably know).

oh thats why. i see, and very true indeed. anyways, he's a great player all the same...though vitalij kuprij and jordan rudess kick his ass any time...

jordan rudess is an amazing 'instrumentist' but he would never write anything nearly as good as 'space-dye vest'.
