I just finished mixing my 1st real project (for a client).

They draw influences from Finnish bands like Abhorrence, Rippikoulu, Demigod, Xysma, Agonized, Adramelech, Convulse, Privilege-Evil era Amorphis, Demilich (and plenty others), to North - American death/doom bands like Timeghoul, Incantation or The Chasm.
The hard part was to get this sound nasty and like it was recorded in the 90's using Digital only, Guitar Rig, No Reamping, No Bass Tracking, only tracked drums, the guitarist wanted EXTREMELY specific guitar tones so I had to bash myself real hard to get this sound as demo-ish as possible, tape saturation plugins, lo-fi-ish sort of sound, tape hiss, hi-bias, flutter...etc.
I had to make the synth do some clean vocals, no autotunes, choir arrangement.
No effects as pitch-shifters were used, only extreme uses of delay and 'verbs.
I'm proud to say mission accomplished, although I think there is far too much flutter effect but hey, not my choice.
