I posted this in the Musicians Corner, too, but I need an anwser!!!

Can someone help me figure out the harmonies in the chorus???

I know the main line is in Eb Phrygian, but I can't figure out how many harmonies there are (or their degrees) for the life of me.

3rds & 5ths sound good along with the melody, but so do 4ths & 6ths! HELP!

I don't really understand that, though. I was looking for the actual notes. Basically, what degree of the scale is the main line harmonized in?

I think he was referring to what degrees of the scale that the three lines of harmony are playing.

Just write out the scale, and plug the names of the notes in with the accidentals(flats mainly in this case).

It sounds right to me, but then again, I've never been good with picking out harmonies by ear.

You might try finding the MIDI for the song and see if it's in there... I don't have the MIDI file here at work with me or I'd give it a look-see.

yeah, that's correct, at least for the first line. i hadn't included the grace note (second to last note), but i figured you could get that one.

as for the second line, it doesn't seem right... i'll have to work it out in my head to get you the right parts.

the "melody" line for the second line goes something like this:

so it might be easier to work out the harmonies from that point
