You know they only remake them, because it's an easy way to make Money, take old films and remake them for the Mass Market. I also hate the way that they take a lot of foreign films and Hollywoodise them.
Godzilla (Pure Shite), where was the man in Big comedy suit stamping on Cardboard villages.
Ring, freaky as hell Japanese horror, add the word The to the begining and you have the horrible American remake, I mean what the HELL was up with adding the horses. they have also remade Ring 2, guess what they called it. Just wait I'm positive that The Ring 0 will be here soon.
Taxi (& Taxi 2), Brilliantly funny French film, I don't even want to think about what they may have done to it.
I advise you to see the following films before Hollywood gets hold of them:
Versus - Brilliant Japanese horror featuring, martial arts, guns, swords & zombies, How could they go wrong.
The Happiness of the Katakuris - Japanese comedy, wierd as hell don't want to say to much just watch it.
Audition - Japanese Horror (I quite like japanese films)
Shaolin Soccer
The Eye
Zatoichi
Ichi The Killer
Dead or Alive - Bit strange especially when you see the end & realise that there is 2 sequals
Boiling Point - Stylish Action film, back when John Woo made good films.
City on Fire - Strictly speaking already remade, as Tarintino swiped half the plot for Reservoir Dogs.
There is probabaly loads more, try anything by Takeshi Miike (unless easly offended, they can get a bit sick, aka Ichi The Killer) his films are generaly a bit wierd/disturbing but original and way more interesting than most of the Turd hollywood Dumps on us.
