Clay hookah bowls

hey there

does anyone know a really simple recipe for making heat resist clay(I guess practically all hard clay is heat resistant and doesn't break)?

Nah.

My friend did, though... You have to be careful about the clay, though. You have to fire it and glaze it so you don't inhale the clay vapors.

Clay isn't "heat resistant" until it is thoroughly devoid of moisture - your best bet is to find a kiln and bake that summabitch after sculpting your bowl.

Your best bet though is to NOT make a hookah bowl out of clay, you'll fucking kill yourself due to the silica content.

edit: Even if you glaze it, it depends on the texture, tooth, and viscosity of the glaze, and most importantly the damned ingredients. Half of the products I've made are laced with oxides (great for a brushed, organic dry look) which have traces of silica in it...
