"Clean" Comedians

I would like to see him live, but comedy shows are relatively expensive. (when I'm used to spending only about 10-15 on a metal show, spending 40-50 on a much shorter comedy show seems like a real investment!)

I hear ya!

Shows at the Punch Line in Atlanta typically have a lower ticket price than $40-50...but then you also have to buy food and drink.

clean comedians...the only one I can really think of is Sinbad...and I don't think he's around anymore.

non-clean-greatest-comedians-ever....Billy Connolly and Jeff Dunham

Jim Gaffigan is one of the best.

is Gaffigan the guy who had a full half hour of bacon jokes?

I'm a big fan of Pablo Francisco.
alot of people seem to really like Pablo. I had never heard of him and was taken to one of his performances about 4 years ago...and it was terrible. i feel like the only person who doesnt find him funny. the whole time, the only thing i could think was "don't make fun of what you don't understand". Example- he started his show by making fun of a type of music and fanbase, when he described the music and fanbase, he was obviously talking about Emo shit. but then he keeps on calling it Death Metal throughout his show. even non-metalheads in the crowd knew he was making an ass of himself.

i will admit that his movie preview voice things are pretty funny, but they get old real quick.

Regan and Gaffigan are two of my favorites. John Pinette is pretty funny, and everything I have heard has been clean. Greg Hahn as well. Tommy Johnagin has some racy topics, but he doesn't swear or get vulgar.

As for Pablo Francisco, I have only ever seen one performance that I thought was funny. I think he's horrible...

With Pablo, Bits and Pieces was his best show and everything I have heard since and before then was mediocre but still made me laugh. I recently checked out Ricky Gervais stand up and was laughing my ass off, but I wouldn't consider him "clean" but it was cleaner than most others. Robin Williams is definately not clean, I don't think I have heard a stand up swear more than him, but I haven't found a comedian yet that I found vulgar or offensive. Vulgar and offensive are 2 words not in my vocabulary because nothing hits a nerve or offends me, or at least not yet. The only thing that offends me is bad music and horrible lifetime movies, hehe.

This topic is like discussing the best brand of decaf coffee.

The whole point of comedy is that nothing is off-limits. Once you start giving yourself boundaries, you're not doing the art form justice.

If you're looking to bring somebody to a comedy venue, just gauge their reaction to some classic Carlin or Hicks bits. If they find any of the material offensive, don't even bother to bring them.
