What would you say would be the biggest difference? I actually used to have clear pinstripe on the snare, but that's like 16-17 years ago so I can't remember how it sounded. After that I've always used different kinds of coated heads since it's how it's "supposed to be".

I'd like to try clear again some day for some production, but generally there's no time to put on and tune up a clear head just to test it out. I just have problems with some (or most) drummers that they can't hit the snare hard enough to get a good tone and I thought that a clear head might provide some more attack for these pussy-drummers, hehe...
