CoB DVD

They don't have to be as known as Judas Priest to make a DVD....many smaller bands already have a full show released on DVD. The place where they will be headlining in Montreal is pretty big. Iced Earth, Cradle Of Filth and In Flames alway book this place. I don't know if anyone have seen the bonus DVD with the album Fate of Norns b Amon Amarth? Anyway....it's from a show they did in Iceland...and I doubt that any metal band released a DVD in a smaller place than that. But it is still very enjoyable. We don't really need to see a big ass stage of 40ft of height....have a crowd over 50 000 and see firewords (*cough* A singer getting hit *cough*) Also... a DVD is probably the best way to promote your band and tell everyone you give a hell of a show. :headbang:
Damn well said!

Rumor has it, the Nov. 15th headlining set in New York will be videotaped....nothing official yet.

Ahhh boooo! :yuk: I was hoping that they'd tape the Montreal gig hehe :p But it's all good....I'm just happy to finally hear that they'll be filming. :headbang:

They have unbelievable much stuff for a dvd, they've been filming shows and especially backstage-stuff for ages now. i guess they have about 100 hours of videotape or sth like that ;) IMO, it's just up to the management etc. when to release a full-lenght dvd. There'S no need to release one when the new album's coming out.

That's right, Missy. They could have already released 2 DVDs because a lot of COB shows were professional filmed in the last years. Now they lie somehwere in the archives of Spinefarm and we probably won't ever see everything which was filmed. In my opinion it would have been a better decision if they already released a full length DVD to stop the bootleg shit. The Korea show in 2001 was sold a lot as bootleg on DVD because many fans wanted to see COB live and the band didn't get one cent from that sales.

2-3 Shows from different eras would be very cool. I doubt there is a professionaly filmed gig from Something Wild (is there one?) but I'd really like to see that. IN THE SHADOWS ! Red Light In My Eyes etc ... :headbang: Tokyo Warhearts would be indeed also very cool! I must agree that the different bootlegs sold on the internet is fuckin stupid! I see very often on eBay some dumbfuck selling the Seoul 2001 in video...or the Milwaukee 2000...The Hate Crew Rolling Over Europe fake live CD.

The whole COB show at Wacken in 1998 was filmed so you almost all COB songs from Something Wild were played live. Only Lake Bodom was released on a Wacken VHS tape and Towards Dead End was shown in German TV. Nuclear Blast own the rights of these recordings and I'm 99,9% sure that they will never be released in any form.

didnt knew of any cob dvd before the new ep dvd... hows this?

It's okay.. Its a "bootleg" video. The cameraman was right in front of Kuoppala so most of the footage is close-up of his guitar work (which is excellent btw).. Some closeups of Alexi's leads also.

I know you can download this from DC++ or wherever, but some people don't have that capability, and would rather pay for the DVD. Thats' what I did when I bought this a few years ago from ebay myself.

well yeah but maybe they dont want to make a dvd yet because they dont have such a long tracklist to it...you know...
they play the same songs in most of the shows and shows are not too long to be in a dvd (i guess)...maybe they will release a dvd ..long one, pretty and pure metal...3 hours or so. (i beg for that dvd to come someday :p)

Kick ass! I'm thinkin about working for Nuclear Blast just so I can have acces to that video! Hehe! no, but really that show must have kicked ass! And plus Alexi was like 18/19 at the time?
