Second best progressive emo album of the year, after The Mars Volta. High pitched effeminate male vocals over excellent guitar playing and progressively structured rock songs. The vocals have a lot of effects in parts, including pitchshifted growls, screams, and deepened vocals which are all probably very conveyed by electronics. They are sort of like a mixture of Rush, Boysetsfire, and Jimmy Eat World's early material. They have awesome melodies, that's the best part about the band. Their albums are all one huge story, each connecting chapters in a longer concept collection of albums. The story will eventually be released as a comic book with manga styled art.

Coheed is a terrible band. I saw them last year and it was terrible. They're not really 'emo', and there are tons of bands in that same vein who may not be as technically skilled but come out with much better songs.
