"Collection Prestige" now available for pre-order

I had forgotten this was coming out, so did not pre-order.

I went out yesterday to pick the album up, but was not able to find it...

Sadly our local specialist shop closed this year, so rely on Virgin and HMV and Mail Order. I know from the texts that I get from Earache that HMV are preferred stockists, so was very surprised to hear that it was not on stock and is not on order. Apparently for £10.99 they could order it in within 7-10 days...

Are HMV supposed to be stocking all Earache / Elitist / Wicked World releases in return for the free advertising that they seem to be getting from the label?

I will probably pick it up from the label site, but wanted to collect in person when I realised that the date was upon us already.

HMV do centralised ordering, meaning the CDs get sent to a warehouse somewhere and then rolled out to each individual store. This means that they are sometimes a week late getting albums on the shelves.

Thanks, Lee.

The impression I was given was that they were not stocking the title at all unless specifically ordered in by a customer, but I think the girl was quite new as I have not seen her there before.

I will check back next week and see if the title is in and let you know.

In the meantime I will use the webstore, unless I can track down one of the stores doing the 7" with the Hate Eternal CD.

I don't understand why anyone would buy from HMV - I know it's nice to be able to buy an album there and then and take it straight home (rather than wait for mail order), and if there are no indie shops in your area then HMV may be your only choice... but their prices for this sort of stuff are always well over the odds. The Earache webstore is much better VFM. Death to corporate fatcats! :bah:

True, I buy just about all my stuff mailorder.

I just wanted to pick it up then as I have not noticed the impending release date.
