The distressor is the most used comp in my studio (after the C2 which is on every mix)

Don´t know in terms of bang for the buck, but in terms of audio the Manley Elop is a clear winner IMO.

The differences were so apparent just listening on my iPhone speakers. The difference between hardware and plugs was very noticeable.

well... being stupid (aspiring to be an audio engineer) i always tend to look for the product that sounds BETTER than any other and would guarentee the mix sounds like shit for any other reason than that product.
in this case i can't really tell any of the comps. sounds "better" than the other...
they all sound a bit different but none seem to be better sounding.
obviously the distressor is probably the most common one but i really can't tell if it SOUNDS better of if it got it's status for it's uniqueness (looks, name, brand and basically being different than any other comp.)
