Computer help needed

We just installed a game and now the DVD drive on the computer isn't showing up. It's not registering as being installed or even connected. Rebooting doesn't work. It's as if it's not even there. Any ideas?

go to control panel, system
hardware tab, open device manager.

can you see the device here maybe with a cross through it? if yes, right click and chose enable.

is it a removalble dvd drive? if yes, unplug it and see if you notice the list change. plug in again and see if it tries to install itself.

we went through every part of the computer and nothing. Miraclously when I turned on the computer this morning it worked again.

rebooting never works, if you get a problem like that, turn the machine off completly, the turn it on again after a minute or 2
