All are essential, particularly the first 5. Altars for hyper shit, Blessed for awesome moody death, Covenant for very domineering death, Domination (review) is the greatest death metal album EVAR, and then of course Entangled in Chaos captures one of the most incredible live bands playing a collection of the first four albums (if you can find it).

Vile is pretty much essential, the others not so much but Bloodthirst is a lot of fun as well.

Wolverine Blues. People give it shit because they are gay, it's fucking awesome death n' roll. Also Clandestine is really good early 90's Swedish death.

Dismember - get "Like An Everflowing Stream". Killer old-skool DM with that typical Swedish feel.

Morbid Angel - "Blessed Are The Sick" and "Covenant" are pretty much essential.

Cryptopsy - "Blasphemy Made Flesh" is one of THE best death metal records ever. Get it or feel my wrath! "None So Vile" is also worth a shot.

Cannibal Corpse - "Tomb Of The Mutilated" and "Butchered At Birth" are, in my book, also pretty damn essential.

Deicide - "Legion" is thy name.
