Yesterday I was really bored so I decided to pick a mix here in the forum. This is a mix of a couple hours but the real purpose was to practice a little. I worked just a few hours on this, so it´s far from a really good mix. The guitar tone and the low end it´s not the best but anyway comments are welcome.

vocals stick out too much compared to the rest imo
drums could come up a tad, esp. the overheads
the guitars really have potential. its strange they arent really muffled but somehow it feels like they are...dunno :/
i'd also be interested in what you used on the guitars though!
i guess if you're willed to work a little longer on that one it could turn out quite good

Thanks a lot dude. Yeah I think that I put too much verb on voice!lol For guitar I used the Tsx x30 1.6 Sovtek.

Thanks a lot for the comment. Dude you have a really good ear. Now that I heard better, you are right about the voice. Well in fact I agree with you in all that you said. The drums are being smashed by the limiter in master bus so they are a bit low. I already had noticed that shit in the guitars, in some sections they seem cool but in others they seem muffled but with a strange brightness.

What I used for the guitars was the Tsx x30 1.6 Sovtek. I am saying what version it is because the different versions have significant changes. If you test someday you will note that for example the version 1.6 it´s much more scooped and bright than the 1.5. And that can really make the difference in the end.

but I think the basic sound is good, really strange though....

yeah I use mainly these 3 versions now (the two 1.6, and the 1.5) depending on the DI's...but I don't know which one of the two 1.6 ended up more often in final mixes.
But I'm really thrilled by the LeGiant right now

Yeah could be the impulse. I always end up with s-preshigh. But I think it´s a DI´s problem, they have a weird sound.

I have not tested legion too much time but yeah it seems a really good ampsim.

damn I always day LeGiant and not LeGion....lolz
DI's have a much bigger effect on ampsims than on real amps I think...but I can't tell for sure, since I don't have the possibility to reamp (yet at least).
i always end up with s-preshigh & guitarhacks...they work well together
