Controversial - Kid slaps mom

They wouldn't have to fear you, they just need to respect you just like they should respect any other decent human being by moral standards and common sense. Indoctrinating fear into a child's mind should never be an option. It is just some sort of excuse because it is easier to go the control route for any authoritative figure.

Yeah, true that, making the kid fear you is just gonna give him/her a complex and lead to some seriously bad teenage rebellion down the road IMO!

Of course we want them to behave out of respect, but it's more fun to call it fear. :p

Yeah, definitely agreed...but when I was being a colossal prick as a youth, all it took was one slap and I learned my lesson! Nowadays that kind of behavior will have DYFS on your ass quick as hell. It was never anything past a quick slap and that was that. Never again!

My parents are the best though. The most generous and selfless people in my life. Woot!

I gotta side with the kid on this one; she's obviously just trying to do the whole "I am the parent bow to my will" routine, but once kids reach a certain age that just doesn't work any more, and I'd definitely say he's at it. And yeah, the sound effects cracked me up (in a kind of horribly lame overdramatizing way)

Absolutely agreed with that.

And YES this overdramatizing effects are just ridiculous..and the music in the background..lol

Damm what a little shit he clearly doesent have THE FEAR totaly the parents fault. Id love to see him pull that shit in my house when i was a kid  A couple nights out in the rain with no food would sort out that temper.

You need THE FEAR as a kid when your growing up keeps you on your toes:lol:

IM guessing an only child also????
