Just recorded this band last week, there's probably a LOT of things that don't sound "good" per-se.

I've found this mix really hard because the band wanted something so drastically different from what I normally go for.

The things that I wouldn't normally do but the band have insisted upon are as follows:

Pretty trebly, and very overdriven bass sound, also I think the bass is a tad loud, but this is how they want it.

Little bit of reverb on guitars.

Guitar tone is a bit muddy and fizzy, but again this is how they want it.

Main thing I'm not into is the mastering. I know there's a LOT of pumping, but they were going for a sort of old converge-y kinda sound, and this is what they wanted...

Basically I'd pretty much like everyone's opinions on wether any of these things have been pushed WAY too far, and just what's not sounding so hot.

Cheers guys! :)

distort his vocals w/a different plugin. Something to smear all the highs, pronounce the mids and roll-off the lows.

TAL Tube may work well.

Otherwise, it's fine bro!

Yeah the vocals are harsh and body-less

I would process the vocals as you usualy do and then put some gain on it but make sure they have some body left

otherwise you are fine

Also the bit where the vocals are soloed at 1:20, fuck that reverb man, if you're gonna put a reverb, but a really small room type reverb on it, but otherwise I'd say that part should be totally dry.

otherwise, this mix is awesome :D
