Cost to Ship a Guitar from the US to Australia?

Do any of you guys know roughly how much it costs to ship a guitar from the US to Australia? Somebody there is looking to buy a guitar from me, and I'm hesitant to go through with it... but they are offering me a good amount of money for the guitar, so I'm thinking about it...

I'm thinking it's going to be around $150-$300. Is that about right?

I'd say so. Most amp heads I've tried to order from the US haven't been any less than $300 in shipping.

Every time I went on the fed ex or ups website when someone wanted to buy a guitar from Australia it always came out to at least $400. I might have been doing something wrong though

I got my Ibanez RG7421 used from the US, and the shipping cost was 115USD.
I can't remember what company as it was well over a year ago now when I got the guitar, and what shipping service it was, but I'm sure you can get a guitar over here for less than 200USD, unless for some reason in the last 18 months or so, shipping prices decided to just skyrocket.

strange, you can get an ltd deluxe off ebay shipped to aus for like 115$, do these guys have corporate international shipping accounts or something?

USPS can be picky but are cheap and faster then UPS or Fed Ex. Fed Ex are stupid expensive, and slow through customs here. UPS can go either way. Paid $160 to send my jackson 7 in hardcase in feb, that would have plenty covered it.

I thought they were strictly within in the US

I was quoted around $122 to ship a guitar to AUS from California based on the package weighing 15lbs and the dimensions being 36"x16"x6"... that isn't the final/exact price though... I'd say go with USPS.

Also, if the box is bigger than 36" they double the shipping price... so watch out.

Always go with USPS for US to Australia shipping - UPS and Fedex are smoking crack with their prices and are almost always double the USPS cost.
