I think it would have worked better than Blaze!

Actually I never liked Dickinson too, give me Paul Di'Anno!

Yeah!!! Paul Di`Anno would have been my dream replacement for Bruce even though I doubt that it would have worked. I don´t think that Joey ever was a real candidate because I read in an interview with Janick Gers shortly after the split that they (Steve Harris) wanted to have a British singer.

That woudve been cool.....I was never a huge maiden fan but was it just me or did that blaze dude reaaaaly suck?

Joey was actually their second choice while Blaze was the first...strange things must have been happening.

Sorry Johnnie but thats not true - and I am good friends with Blaze and all the other guys in Wolfsbane - the above comments are correct - Harry always was gonna have a British singer even if it was an unknown!!!

Even though I am good friends with Blaze - he only lives round the corner - I was never a fan of the stuff he did with Maiden - but hey ho he enjoyed it and made a few bob so good luck to the bloke who got into rock music from being a hotel porter!!

Get real people, Di'Anno was cool, but Bruce Dickenson is the definitive singer of Iron Maiden. I don't think Bellardini could have matched Bruce's pipes. That litte bastard can sing his ass off, and had a huge range. He could sing nasty and operatic in the same song!

I think only part of the problem was Blaze - when I saw them in Chicago on the "Virtual XI" tour, he was out of tune on many of the Bruce-era songs.

But I think a bigger problem was that Harris wasn't willing to give up more control over the songwriting. If I remember correctly, Blaze only co-wrote one or two songs - and one of them, "Futureal," while not the greatest song Maiden ever did, wasn't terrible. I can't say the same for "The Angel & The Gambler," with a chorus that was far too repetitive.

Don't get me wrong, Maiden is Harris's band, so he has the right to call the shots. But I think if he'd have been a little more open to some fresh ideas, things may have turned out a little better. Plus, "The X Factor" really wasn't a bad album at all.

Just my thoughts, anyway...

What? You guys can't be serious. I dont think Joey has the lungs to hang with some of those maiden classics. I mean really. He had a better shot at getting the Journey gig after Steve Perry left.

Actually, Harris doesn't write many songs on his own like he used to. Look at the credits.

I always heard the rumour that ex-Helloween singer, Michael Kiste was is line to replace Bruce given the similarities in their vocal style. What happened to Kiste anyway? He was sensational on the two 7 Keys albums.
