I want to record a cover song(who will be displayed for free on the internet) , but I don't know anything about the law concerning this act . Can someone help me ?

I dunno what the actual law on it is, but I think once you have promission from the singer then it's ok.

I think the first question to ask is: what country are you in? That would affect the legalities, definitely.

Yea, usually there are only legal issues if you profit off of the recording and/or performance of the cover in any way. So, don't make money!!!!

The most recommended thing is to request the permission of the artist, but that's a little hard, doesn't? :p

anyway, you must to specify the band, the composer of the music and lyrics, the publishing company, etx. all this info you can find it in the booklet of the original CD.

Yeah I don't think it's a big deal if you aren't making money off of it.

I wonder what wedding bands have to do then?
