Crate TDP guitar preamp. (Clip and pic.)

I stumbled across this unit on ebay when i searched for the e530. And wow, this sound fucking awesome. Just tested the lead channel yet. The distortion is tight as hell, and i love the voicing... Here are a short test with good old ROS di´s.

What was the entire chain? TS? Cab? Mic? Impulse?

Thats pretty impressive for a crate.

The chain was: TSE808 -> ProRMP -> Crate -> 57 EDGE 45 OTS_dc (IR). Just H/P L/P. I`ve read a lot good things about it, so i decicded to just check it.

sounds a bit fizzy and not very thick, but not too bad. What's the rhythm channel sound like?

Actually sounds ok. I didn't find the top end overly obnoxious (7-10k) and could perhaps do with some extra low mid action.

Old thread regurge... I have one of these Carte TDP's and I love this thing! It's not a replacement for plugging into my full stack, but hell, for a preamp, it rocks hard with a bit of tweaking..

I was gonna sell it, but I'll hold off for now. I have a couple of hybrid amps that this thing wakes up nicely..
