This, in my opinion, is highly arrogant and extremely ignorant. The word "talent" alone is already incredibly hard to define objectively. I myself truly admire people like Corey Taylor and Max Martin for example, and think they are extremely talented. Other poeple might have an intirely different perspective to this matter. But to come here and bash the artist we're talking about just for the sake of doing it is really not nice and definately not necessary in my opinion. It does no good and only offends certain people. So what's your point???
Anyways, my take on Creed. I think they're great. Nothing ground breaking but I do enjoy them. The singer isn't my favorite really but the music's just great and nicely uplifting. I will not turn down Creed whenever I have a chance to hear them. They're good. More power to Creed!

I dont think LuminousA dislikes Creed because of an elitist musical taste or a dislike for anything "mainstream". If he/she didnt enjoy several types of music he/she wouldnt be posting in a non-metal thread, like the Radiohead one (a relatively mainstream band that is frequently on mtv).

Notice that I DID mention that my post (the part about the snobs) was NOT directed at anyone spesific. My point was simply that there is no point start flaming anything like that cause it will only result into fighting. I love many mainstream bands. Cave In are on RCA records and are touring with Foo Fighters after a stint on Lollapalooza, and they are easily one of my favorite bands right now. Creed just sucks, purely unoriginal trash.

Very true. That band is horrible. Nothing but a Pearl Jam ripoff and they're making a lot of money off that. Everytime I hear Creed I find that my vision goes red.

For some raeson i dont like pearl jam either, even if some of their videos are cool. I guess because I always feel like they were trying too hard to be Nirvana in their early stage (for me, at least) so ... im prejudiced against them.

Pearl Jam never really sounded like Nirvana. If you notice, Pearl Jam's music was mostly Gossard and McCready who had been playing with Mother Love Bone and Temple of the Dog before Pearl Jam's first album in '91 (which was only a scant 2 years after Nirvana's debut with Bleach in '89), and Mother Love Bone was formed in '88 so they obviously did not try to sound like Nirvana. If anything, I think Pearl Jam tried to sound like early The Afghan Whigs, such as their '88 album Up In It which sounds almost exactly like early Pearl Jam (but not as good, The Afghan Whigs didn't get amazing until they dropped the grunge for the most part and then they released 4 amazing albums in a row making them in my mind the greatest rock band of the 90s).
