Crit my mix?

The kick and snare seem quite lost behind everything. Especially the toms.

more so in volume than in competing in frequency. If you turn down the crashes and the toms and nudge the vocals down, everything should sound abit more balanced.

if you want to reference the mix i did then feel free, here it is

my no means is mine perfect, but maybe hearing the track with a different mix will help you pick out things that you do and dont like in yours.

:Spin:

Thanks for the input :)

This is something I seem to struggle with a bit. I don't know if it's just my monitoring environment stopping me from getting this right, or whether I'm being fooled when I reference on other systems.

Any other opinions?

Whats the room like that you're mixing in? (size, shape, furnature, floor, walls)?

rooms with hard floors and not alot of sound absorbent materials such as couches , beds and rugs will definitely affect your ability to monitor a mix properly.

The room is just my bedroom, so it's so far from ideal it's not even funny aha. I think part of the problem is when I reference on my Macbook speakers, as the snare always seems to poke out a little more than on any other set of speakers.
