hey guys,

I'm new to mixing and thought I'd have a go at mixing the Feared tracks that were up for competition a while back. If anyone could give me general feedback and pointers/tips for improvement, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

The first thing that come to my mind while listening to your mix is that the vocal are a bit too loud, you should try to add a compressor on it or something like that because sometimes the volume of the voice is not linear.
And concerning the vocal itself, try adding a little bit of reverb, it may sound better (use your ears)
Also, I think that your song could be much more powerful with a good mastering.

Concerning the whole song, the good point is that it's clean, I mean the sound isn't muddy, it just lacks of power, which can be obtained with a good mastering.

Sorry for my bad english, I hope I helped you in your quest :)

Thanks! I knew myself that that the vocal wasn't sitting properly in the mix but I'll have that sorted out. Also, trying to make the mix more powerful was a challenge for me so is there any ways I could do that during the mix stage without having to rely too much on mastering?
