Custom amp building.

Potential stupid question alert but I really don't know much about this so here goes...

Does anyone know anything about custom amp building? I really, really, really, really, really, really, really want an X88R. I could get the money if I scrimp for a couple of months but I cant even find any for sale. Plan B is that I've noticed the schematics for X88R's knocking around on the internet for free but I'm a complete retard with soldering so how much would it cost to have one cloned by a custom amp builder compared to a regular buy?

I've built 2 valve amps a few years back,
It's great fun if you are into electronics but a complete waste of time if you are both inexperienced and hoping to save money.

If you want to do it to save some cash on the price of a new amp then it's not worth the effort, it will almost certainly end up being far more expensive than you'd anticipate and you'll be spending hundreds of hours on research and learning new skills.
